Community Service
Community service is a central part of my life. I am very active with the Order of Malta, which is dedicated to serving the sick and the poor, including bringing the sick to Lourdes, France on pilgrimage. I actively serve with the Contra Costa Food Bank, with St Vincent de Paul at the St Mary's pantry, and with the Missionaries of Charity sisters feeding homeless people in the streets of Oakland. I am also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, serving handicapped children and helping veterans with housing and other essentials.
In the past, I volunteered with the Salvation Army ARC as a spiritual director to men working on sobriety, and I served as a hospital chaplain at Kaiser, helping those hospitalized with emotional and spiritual needs during their time of difficulty.
